Welcome to the Shire of Flintmarsh, a local chapter of an international organization called the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). It is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the research and recreation of pre-17th century European history. The members learn from "hands on" participation and then conduct classes and/or demonstrations where they teach others what they have learned. Our shire covers the area between Ozark, Alabama; Chipley, Florida; and Bainbridge, Georgia. Click here for map. The Society consists of nineteen kingdoms worldwide, which are broken down into Baronies, Shires, Cantons and Colleges. We are a part of the Kingdom of Meridies, which encompasses most of the Southeastern United States. Our local group meets the last Sunday of every month in Dothan, Alabama; These meetings include a brief business meeting, discussions of upcoming events, medieval arts and crafts workshops, a fighter practice and lots of fun! Our Arts and Science meetings are every 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month at Baron Charles' and Graidhna's house. Please contact our A & S officer before attending A weekly scriptorium is also held on every Wednesday evening at the same location If you are interested in joining the SCA, or just in finding out more about us, please drop in and introduce yourself, or contact our Seneschal or Chatelaine for more information.
